#artist statement
Due to my engagement with different creative fields, my creative work is expressed in various formats, mediums and scales- landscape architecture projects, academic articles, oil painting, pencil drawing, maps, videos, installations, and their combinations. Most of my works -some interdisciplinary, some not so much- share themes and connect to one another, blending into one single practice.
Every project is a field of research that may lead to a final product -or not; process is part of the artwork or sometimes the artwork itself. My projects seek to mobilize emotion alongside active thinking. Therefore, they occasionally deal with actual, concrete, public issues. In contrast to this tangible reality, I explore the small, invisible, imperceptible, unacknowledged concepts that inhabit the imaginary and connect us through the vulnerable side: error, trauma, weakness, desire, memory. This controversial exploration takes form through magical narratives, poetic images, imaginary laboratories, unexpected gatherings. Within the tangible space, scenes of a parallel reality take place, in a meeting of the material with the imaginary, of the real world with a hidden, mystical one.

Eva Andronikidou (Greece, 1984) is a freelance architect, landscape architect, visual artist and stage designer, based in Athens. Her practice combines research and teaching of architecture, landscape architecture, and archaeology in international postgraduate programs, alongside the development of artistic projects, creating installations, poetic imagery, and imaginary laboratories that invite reflection and engagement.
Although in different formats and media, she explores common themes in both creative fields -art and architecture, as her works connect among them and give feedback one to another. Sustainability, nature and ecosystems, memory and the invisible traces of time, mapping and recognizing space(s), are some of the themes she explores. Engaging with different creative challenges in diverse territorial, cultural, social and physical environments is a crucial axis of her professional and personal evolution.
Her rescued dog Nijta appears in many works, and is almost always present in the making. Activism is a central part of her life; she has been an active stray animal rescuer since 2014.
Eva is a PhD Candidate at the School of Architecture of the National Technical University of Athens (N.T.U.A.), where she has also earned a diploma in Architecture. She additionally holds a diploma in Fine Arts (A.S.F.A.), a Master Degree in Landscape Architecture (E.T.S.A.B., U.P.C.), and a diploma in Acting (La Casona, Barcelona).
